The Art of Scripted Healing

A tangible practice for mental wellness and emotional balance

Scripted Healing

During my travels around Florida, I found writing to be one of my most useful and rooted tools. It's not only a means to share stories but also a therapeutic and alchemical healing modality.

Writing sets the stage and opens doors to an array of things–especially in the realms of manifestation. However, when utilized for healing; more specifically, emotional healing, this adds a little more frosting to the wellness cake.

Utilizing Writing for Healing

Emotional surges can happen at any point during our lives and they usually come in the form of rage, sadness, depression, anxiety, and more. I like to label these types of emotions as “cloud emotions”. More on this later.

These heavy hitters can be very trying to navigate and at times may cause blinders and hindrances that keep us from flowing forward– a stuck period. You might feel hopeless, frustrated, scared, or alone. But never fear, this Unicorn is here to help!

Incorporating writing for emotional healing can provide many benefits during these clouded feelings but can also upsurge buried pain. This requires some tender loving care for the wielder but is achievable.

Emotional Purging

There are levels to therapeutic writing and from experience I have found ways to helm its alpha-chemical energy which has lent aid in balancing internal sentiments.

Today, we are going to cover the ones that help with emotional release; Scripted Purging and Scripted Reflection. Each of these stages holds weight but with patience, understanding, and alongside other healing outlets, it can be a forever resource for overall growth.

Scripted Purging

Scripted purging requires us to be raw and honest with how we are presently feeling. This also means writing without shame–the most important part of emotional purging.

The pen and pad are your sanctuaries—a moment meant for releasing, not harboring, expressing, and not critiquing. So, remember this as you proceed.

In addition, this is not the time to embrace the English professor persona, so punctuation and grammatical correctness can remain at the door. Just be sure it's legible for later reflection.

Writing to release unwanted energy is the goal here so be as raw and transparent as you can. In other words, “the truth will set you free”.

Scripted Reflection

Now that the potency of your emotions has been written in raw form, it’s time to reflect on its contents but before you do, I suggest pausing so you can reconvene with fresh eyes and mindset.

Scripted reflection is the part of healing that can be the most overwhelming but also therapeutic. It's a challenge to be non-biased when looking over your emotionally infused sentences.

During this step, review your writing in small sections and ask exploratory questions. These questions help you to better understand certain areas of yourself, your emotions, and any particular situations that may be tied to the writing at hand.

Here are a few examples:

  • What part of this experience is similar to other encounters?

  • Do I have reasonable wants and needs?

  • Am I looking at this objectively?

  • Have I considered their emotions?

Take as much time as you need during this stage as it can reveal some eye-opening information. Keep in mind that you may not figure out every aspect instantly. Have patience and remember, like any healing practice, gradual and consistent steps are key to healing.

Take away

While words have great power, this holistic practice is designed for energetic cleansing. With this, you are participating in the art of scripted writing. An interaction that has no interest in causing harm but rather an alchemical effect.

The words you write are locked within the pages of your journal unless you choose to share them. This is also a psychological way to retrain and restructure your thoughts and revamp how you deal with your emotions.

Utilize this practice as often as you need to find emotional balance and lighter days.

  • Yes, absolutely!

  • No, not really.

A note to my fellow magical practitioners and alchemist

We know that words have potency and utilizing any writing tool can act as a conduit for many practices. With that, I suggest adding a note or infused indicator at the top of your journal specifying that the words expressed are for personal healing only.

I hope this helps.

Until next time wellness journey folk.
